HAW DID BABA RAMDEV BRING INVESTORS?

Patanjali hardly have any investor. As per information available in public domain less than 10% is held by outside investor. We must understand the dynamics of this business. In settign up any new business, a large part of investment is required to set up and market brand. Patanjali had a huge advantage of followers base and trust factor which catalyzed initial growth and became self sustaining model in very short time. This is true in other such case also be it Sri Sri or Isha foundation. The followers are best marketing people one can have since they not only religiously consume products but also promote to others. The way it is going doubt if they will even need any investor.

Recently, Patanjali Ayurved announced its plans to launch its clothing line across four categories (knit wear, woven wear, denims, ethnic wear) in the summer of 2018. The garments, manufactured by adopting a combination of its own processes and outsourcing, will span menswear, womenswear, and childrenswear. Retailing of products would be undertaken through company-owned stores and franchise outlets. Preliminary impressions of the ambitious plan suggest that textile companies in the home textile, technical textile, and core yarn/fabric manufacturing may not face issues owing to the move. Since Patanjali is expected to focus more on the domestic market, apparel firms, which derive a significant percentage of their revenue from exports, will not have much to worry about, at least initially.
